Attention all sports car buffs! The rare Spyker car, revived in 2000, has introduced a line of Swiss-made chronographs. Spyker was founded in Holland in 1898 and the Spijker brothers created a horse-drawn carriage for Queen Wilhelmina. The Golden Carriage is still one ceremonial use once a year.
Spyker made some of of the first automobiles and went out of business in 1925. After a decades of zero production, the brand has been revived to the great delight of the car racing community. Spyker cars have placed a respectable 5th at the Le Mans in 2009, and participated in Formula One races. The cars are handmade and beautifully appointed inside and out. Each one is custom built to order.
A Spyker Car in Action
Spyker wanted to create a watch for its owners with a collection of Swiss watches that bear many design features from the cars. The dial reflects the design of the dials on the dashboard and features an engine-turned finish. It features an automatic movement with 42 hour power reserve, and of course a chronograph function, to time those split-second finishes.
