Rolex has created a new movement masterpiece – its first…
With its signature Millinary dial engraved to resemble piano keys, Audemars Piguet has created a limited edition watch in honor of the great musician Quincy Jones. The watch, a series of 500, celebrates the work of one of music’s legends. Mr. Jones started out as a trumpet player and jazz musician, and his influence on the music scene has included producing Michael Jackson’s Thriller album, and the We Are The World song in 1985. Quincy Jones developed the Quincy Jones Foundation, which works to promote dignity, health and well-being in children. In partnership with Audemars Piguet, Project Q was developed to raise awareness of the importance of self-expression and well-being in children. Each year a Project Q prize is awarded to an individual or group who have been instrumental in helping children reach their full potential.
The Quincy Jones watch – note the piano key design on the dial
But the watch is not just another pretty face. It features the calibre 3120 automatic movement fully manufactured by Audemars with a power reserve of 60 hours. The case is made of blackened steel, which further highlights the piano key dial. The back is engraved with Mr. Jones’ signature. This watch is a prime example of artistic and mechanical excellence coming together to support a great cause. Its unique design also makes it a favorite among collectors.
